I came home today to find my 2006 Dogs In Canada Annual in the mailbox. Coda won second place in the City Dog category of the photo contest! It was a pleasant surprise. The picture was taken last fall during a windy but typical Saturday training session. We were at the school tracking and Coda was voicing his displeasure at being in the van instead of out with me.
Judge's comments: This is clearly a dog happy to be living in the city. The mussed hair, the ears and tongue flapping in the breeze, all serve to give the image a sense of joy. In spite of the hidden eyes, the curve of the car leads the eye to the dog. The black Schnauzer also shows off nicely against a clear blue sky.
